Hi, I'm Christie, the founder and main teacher at The Clark School of Speech and Drama.

I'm 23 years old and was a student of the LAMDA syllabus myself, many moons ago. I've managed to sit every LAMDA Speaking Verse and Prose Exam possible, achieving top grades at every level (even an Honour, back in the olden days when I sat my first exam and that grade boundary still existed) so know exactly what it's like to go through the syllabus as a student.

My experience with LAMDA instilled a life-long love of public speaking, and the English language, within me. The nature of the examinations did a great deal to prepare me for interviews, presentations and auditions later on in life and taught me how to present myself properly in public.

After winning the Mayor of Sefton's performing arts bursary in 2009, I went on to achieve full marks in the spoken elements of my English GCSE (and was the only student at my school to do so), then studied English Literature at Durham University (where I, not only graduated with Honours but, was elected president of my college theatre company, served as Publicity Officer - and then Secretary - of the Durham University Classical Theatre as well as spent my final year writing a dissertation on the presentation of heroism in children's literature and helping my fellow students produce shows as the Internal Hires Co-ordinator for the Durham Student Theatre).

I now teach lessons to students in the evenings and at weekends whilst spending weekdays working in Marketing at an AR start-up.

LAMDA exams, and the certifications that are awarded upon their completion, helped me to quantify my skill in an area that very few others could and I feel that they gave me a real advantage in both academic and professional senses. I found working through the LAMDA syllabus exhilarating, challenging and (most importantly) fun, when I did it. I think that they do a great deal to build up children's confidence and faith in themselves.

I've been teaching children the content for these exams for over seven years now and have a 100% success rate for both passing and gaining distinctions in all exams.
